I think I admire Harlock because of his unwaivering strength of character. He represents a man who has been rejected by all and yet because of his love and loyalty refuses to be kept down; a man with few friends and many enemies he is always true; a man with direction and purpose who will not let anything get in his way. Harlock is fierce and loyal, confidant and strong, yet there exists under the surface a tenderness that is his greatest strength. He is an overcomer.
